Do something different with Strawberries this Wimbledon

Do something different with English Strawberries this Wimbledon fortnight and try adding some balsamic vinegar, anise, brown sugar and a touch of mint and then cook them on a BBQ.

This is one of the most amazing deserts you’ll ever taste and it’s so easy to make thanks to Qbag. The clever aluminium foil bag locks in the flavours of your favourite food by retaining its moisture and succulence whilst cooking on a BBQ (or in a conventional oven). The window, which allows your food to breathe, lets you keep an eye on things during cooking. Qbag is very convenient as dishes can be prepared in advance, sealed in the bag and placed on the BBQ at the last minute. It’s also disposable, so washing up is minimal.  

RECIPE:

  • 1 Qbag®
  • 200g English strawberries, hulled & halved
  • 2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 teaspoon chopped mint
  • Ice cream to serve  

  • Combine the strawberries and all the other ingredients except the mint in a bowl. Transfer to an open
  • Q-bag. Seal the Q-bag with two 3-4 cm folds at the top of the bag
  • Place the bag window up over a hot barbecue and cook for 3 minutes
  • Peel off the clear window and remove from the heat.
  • Sprinkle with mint & then spoon over ice cream
